The Colorado Buffaloes Men’s Basketball Team sent head coach Tad Boyle and seniors Evan Battey and Eli Parquet to San Fransisco for the Pac-12 Media Day Conference, which took place Wednesday.
The Buffaloes were predicted to finish sixth in the Pac-12 by the media with 235 points. In front of them were UCLA (404), Oregon (373), USC (320), and Arizona and Oregon State (245).

Senior forward Evan Battey was selected for the Preseason Media All-Conference First Team. Battey, entering his fifth season in the program, is expected to not only reach career numbers, but Boyle also knows he will be one of the top leaders for the younger athletes.
Another senior leader, guard Eli Parquet, has been putting up consistent defensive numbers for multiple seasons. Part of the 2020-2021 Pac-12 All-Defensive Team, Parquet was also given the team’s Best Defender Award. This defense will likely carry over into his final season of eligibility.
Sophomore forward Jabari Walker was chosen as a Preseason Media All-Conference Honorable Mention. After a breakout season as a true freshman, Walker managed statistics that got him a Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection last season while averaging just 14.2 minutes per game.

Heading into a more normal season, with fans permitted to attend to full capacity, Boyle and his coaching staff will expect a strong performance out of their team after a March Madness bid just over six months ago. Despite their young team, upperclassmen such as Battey and Parquet will be good influences and supportive teammates as these new athletes adjust to college seasons.
