On the latest episode of the At the Buzzer, Jack and Sam avoid talking about Colorado football for as long as possible.
There are more exciting things to discuss, such as the Buffs’ basketball schedule that was released earlier this week (read this by our new writer, Logan Standard). The Buffs play national title contenders UCLA and Kansas, talented squads Milwaukee and Tennessee, and visit Oregon — all before New Year’s.
We don’t know much about the Buffs heading into the 2021-22 season, but it’s a transition year for most of the Pac-12. CU could finish anywhere from 3rd and 7th and it wouldn’t be much of a surprise. We try to go game-by-game in the Pac-12 schedule preview, but we’re grasping at straws with all these new-look opponents.
Also on the podcast, we talk about Quincy Allen’s hip surgery that will likely sideline him for the season. The 6’7 forward was the 88th-ranked recruit in the Class of 2021. The Buffs will miss his shooting ability and athleticism, meaning Tad Boyle will trend towards three-guard lineups that should see Eli Parquet and Nique Clifford play serious minutes at the 3.
We do finally get to the football team, discuss what’s going on with the ineptitude and do a light preview of the USC game on Saturday. It hasn’t been a great season for the team but we’re trying to have fun with it.
