The Buffs staved off interest from rival schools Colorado State and Air Force, as well Army and Eastern Washington. Those schools don’t scream elite prospect, but he’s a late bloomer who didn’t receive a scholarship offer until this past April. The Buffs have been ahead of the curve on prospects like Reed, often offering them before a rash of Power 5 offers.
The 5’11, 165-lbs. athlete is fast, fluid and versatile. He’s a deep ball receiver and an explosive punt returner, but he’s likely to move to cornerback. His smaller stature and quick movement is better on that side of the ball. He’s a smart player who uses his knowledge of tree routes to disrupt opposing receivers.
The Buffs are also targeting Reed’s teammate, Kaleb Elarms-Orr, a 4-star defensive end prospect.
Welcome, Nikko!
