Corinthians are based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the commerce capital of the country. Siewert is from nearby Joinville — about 7 hours south of Sao Paulo — so this should be a warm welcome for the Brazilian forward. The club he’s joining is one of the better clubs in Brazil. Corinthians finished in 7th place in both 2018/19 and 2019/20 in New Basket Brazil, the country’s top-flight competition.
Overseas competitions usually favors veteran players, but Siewert is skilled enough to earn significant playing time early in his career. Siewert’s perimeter oriented game should be a great fit in a league that prioritizes skill over athleticism.
