What to watch if you’re stuck at home

The NCAA Tournament has been cancelled, the NBA and NHL are on hiatus, and even the Masters has been postponed. Within the last three days, the sports world has come to a complete halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. From self-quarantines to working remotely, precautions are being taken across the globe to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

If you’re a Colorado Buffaloes football fan and find yourself stuck at home, here’s a list of “must watch” videos to get you through these tough times.

The Rise (Buffs TV)

A six-episode series produced and directed by CU’s award-winning video team which chronicles the 2016 season. The Rise allows viewers to follow along the Buffaloes march to a Pac-12 South title and their first bowl appearance since 2007. Episode 1 can be seen below. Miracle at Michigan: Colorado Buffaloes’ Kordell Stewart’s Hail Mary Stuns Michigan Wolverines (GO BUFFS!)

The recipient of Stewart’s Hail Mary, Michael Westbrook, was one of 17 players named to the 2020 College Football Hall of Fame Class on Wednesday. Relive one of the more memorable plays in college football history, dubbed the ‘Miracle at Michigan,’ in this short video.

2001 #1 Nebraska at #15 Colorado (SDxBuff)

62-36. Need I say more. This video is two-hours and 45-minutes of pure joy for any Colorado Buffaloes football fan.

Man, Rashaan Salaam could run. En route to winning the 1994 Heisman Trophy, Salaam eclipsed 2,000 rushing yards on the season with this burst against the Iowa State Cyclones.

1991 Orange Bowl #1 Colorado vs #5 Notre Dame No Huddle (SteelBuck 6)

A 36-plus minute cutdown of the Colorado Buffaloes 10-9 victory over Notre Dame in the 1991 Orange Bowl, which led to the school’s first and only National Championship. There’s plenty more games from season, too, if you want to see Darian Hagan, Eric Bieniemy, Alfred Williams and Kanavis McGhee in action.

Dan Hawkins “Go play intramurals brotha”

From Herm Edwards’ “You play… to win… the game” to Mike Gundy’s “Come after me, I’m a man, I’m 40,” head coach rants are the gifts that keep on giving. During his five-year stint in Boulder, Dan Hawkins not only produced a 19-39 overall record, but this gem.

Directed by Emmy-award winning Jim Podhoretz, this ESPN Films 30-for-30 on Colorado’s winningest head coach is a must watch for any Colorado Buffaloes fan. ‘The Gospel According to Mac’ is available for ESPN+ subscribers.
