On the latest episode of the At the Buzzer podcast, Jack Barsch and Sam Metivier break down the Alamo Bowl and the non-conference basketball slate.
Colorado will face old Big 12 foe Texas in San Antonio on Tuesday, Dec. 29 (7:00 p.m.). The Longhorns have lost a number of key players to opt-outs, but they’re still very talented and very deep. QB Sam Ehlinger and RB Bijan Robinson could be difficult to contain for a defense without Nate Landman (Achilles) and Terrance Lang (virus). There’s still a chance the Buffs come into the game with more energy and upset the Longhorns.
CU basketball just wrapped an excellent non-conference schedule. The Buffs are 6-1 — six wins by 10+ points and a 9-point road loss to #8 Tennessee — and are ranked #24 in Ken Pomeroy’s rankings. McKinley Wright is the leading contender for Pac-12 POY and all the supporting pieces are fitting just right, especially new additions Jeriah Horne and Keeshawn Barthelemy. The Buffs will play at Arizona on Monday (7:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks), the first of three tough away games to start the Pac-12 schedule.
