Colorado Football - Chase Penry is a Buff

The dependable WR makes it official

NCAA Football: Colorado State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Another great talent from Colorado makes the decision to stay within the nice four straight lines of the Centennial State. Chase Penry, who plays at perennial powerhouse Cherry Creek High School, has signed on to play for the even more perennial powerhouse Colorado Buffaloes. He is a welcome addition to a stacked WR room.

Chase Penry is one of the original commitments of this class, someone who was committed to Mel Tucker before he up and split. Perry also has the potential to early enroll, but either way, he has been a rock to this recruiting class. because his recruitment was shut down early, he had less overall offers than some others in this class, but he is more than talented enough to for the Buffs.

When he committed, we wrote this about his game:

Chase reminds me a lot of recent Forever Buffs Nelson Spruce and Tony Brown on tape. He’s not too big, or too fast, or too strong, but he has a singular focus on the ball in the air, which lets him come up with catches and yards that he has no business snagging. He has efficient footwork, gets upfield in a hurry, and his long arms give him more size than you would expect. He can play inside or outside and should contribute right away, on special teams at the very least.

Welcome to the family, Chase!
