The Colorado Buffaloes will play their next game at Folsom Field under the light in what could be a frigid November 21st showdown against the Arizona State Sun Devils. The university announced on Monday that the CU-ASU game will kick-off at 8:00 p.m. (MT) and will be aired nationally on ESPN2.
Considering the rest of the Pac-12 South, except Utah, every home night game this season should favor the Buffs. The 5:00 p.m. kick-off against UCLA proved to be a warm Fall night, but an even later start deeper into November should really help against a team from Tempe, Arizona. Even if there’s no snow or rain, that’s the only game all season ASU won’t play in a desert climate.
For the Buffs, the home field advantage will be the starting point of any upset bid. The Sun Devils are a talented team that probably should have beat Pac-12 favorites USC on the road this past Saturday. They have a mobile and accurate QB in Jayden Daniels who should give the CU defense fits. The Buffs, on the other hand, would love nothing more than a ground-and-pound attack in less forgiving weather conditions.
Let’s hope this game happens — unlike the two Pac-12 games canceled in Week 1 — and let’s hope it’s a freezing Nov. 21st.
