Buffaloes in the NFL: Laviska Shenault Jr. makes history with Jaguars

DeSoto’s own in rare company with another former Buffs receiver

Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. became the second wide receiver in NFL history with at least 100 receiving yards and 50 rushing yards through four career games.

The rookie phenom joins another former Colorado Buffaloes standout, Michael Westbrook, who accomplished the same feat with Washington in 1995. Shenault set the CU record for multiple touchdowns in a game with four scores (two receiving/two rushing) vs. Arizona State on Oct. 6, 2018.

Westbrook was in awe of what Shenault accomplished in Boulder. Before this year’s NFL Draft, he told the Denver Post, “If I was there to give him advice, I would tell him that he’s building a bridge to his future.”

Westbrook, Shenault, Paul Richardson and Rae Carruth are the only four Colorado receivers selected within the first 50 picks of their respective NFL draft classes since 1994.
