Buffaloes announce throwback uniforms

These are gorgeous

The Colorado Buffaloes take on the Utah Utes on Sunday (4pm, ESPNU). It’s throwback night, so the Buffs will be wearing 1967 throwback uniforms, and oh my goodness they are beautiful.

These uniforms, or at least some iteration of this basic design, should be the Buffs’ default get-up. That off-white that sorta looks gold in the right lightning, the gold numbers and font, the socks (!) — it’s just beautiful.

The throwbacks will honor the Sox Walseth era of Colorado basketball. Walseth coached from 1956 to 1976 and is the winningest coach in program history. (Tad Boyle is just 60 wins behind win in second place and is just now in his 10th year coaching.) Walseth also coached the women’s teams from 1980-1983, during which time he never lost a game in Boulder.
