The GOAT of Colorado Buffaloes basketball has a sparkling new job. To add to his impressive post-playing career, Chauncey Billups has signed with LA Clippers to be their color commentary broadcast.
This is an exciting new path for Billups. He was an on-air personality with ESPN since 2014, but he tired of being a television analyst, which doesn’t require very much basketball insight. He asked ESPN for a chance to commentate last season and they had him on for 10 games. It’s fair to say Billups loved the experience and wanted more of it.
Billups told Jovan Buha of the Athletic, “I realized it was a ton harder than doing ‘NBA Countdown. But I liked it. I was able to talk more basketball, able to give my insight on the game a lot more. So I just fell in love with it. I really enjoyed it.”
It should be an exciting year in LA. The Clippers just signed Kawhi Leonard and traded for Paul George. They are the favorites to win the Finals.
