We’re going Stampeding!

Just in time for the start of College Football season, there’s now an official beer for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Colorado vs. Arizona State

The school announced Tuesday it has partnered with Avery Brewing Company, a family-owned craft brewery in Boulder since 1993, to create Stampede, a Colorado Gold Lager to represent CU’s athletic programs.

“Boulder is my home, and I’ve been rooting for the Buffs since becoming a Coloradoan 35 years ago,” says Adam Avery, founder of Avery Brewing Company. “It’s a dream come true to partner with such a great university. I’m surrounded by CU grads here at the brewery who are just as psyched as I am about this beer! Let’s Go Buffs!”

As you can see from images in the above tweet, the can features a beautiful depiction of the school’s live buffalo mascot, Ralphie, with the CU logo emblazoned on her forehead. The design was created by nationally recognized artist Neil Shigley, the creator of Avery Bewery’s current can art. At 4.5% ABV, the Gold Lager is described to be “light, crisp, and perfect for game days in every season,” according to Avery Brewing.

“We’re excited to partner with the Avery Brewing Company on this unique endeavor,” CU athletic director Rick George said in a news release. “The artwork of Ralphie on the cans is spectacular and really adds to making this a true, homegrown, Boulder product.

Avery Brewing Company is hosting a Stampede Kickoff Celebration on Friday, August 23 beginning at 11:30am. According to the company’s website, Stampede will be distributed in 12-packs starting in late August. You can find Stampede near you using Avery’s brew finder here.
