On Monday, the Pac-12 released the weekly pairing for the upcoming 2019-20 season. That means that the Colorado Buffaloes almost have their finalized schedule. The exact dates, tip-off times and TV channels have yet to be announced.
The Buffs’ schedule will go as follows:
Jan 1-5: Oregon/Oregon State at Colorado/Utah
Jan 8-12: Utah at Colorado
Jan 15-19: Colorado/Utah at Arizona/Arizona State
Jan 22-26: Washington/Washington State at Colorado/Utah
Jan 29-Feb 2: Colorado/Utah at UCLA/USC
Feb. 5-9: California/Stanford at Colorado/Utah
Feb 12-16: Colorado/Utah at Oregon/Oregon State
Feb 19-23: UCLA/USC at Colorado/Utah
Feb 26-Mar 1: Colorado/Utah at California/Stanford
Mar 4-7: Colorado at Utah
The good news about this schedule, as opposed to the past two seasons, is that CU won’t be playing a bunch of road games to start the schedule. That means they won’t have to dig themselves out of a hole if they struggle on the road, which they tend to do. The Buffs should benefit from a more balanced schedule.
Of note, the Buffs will not host the Arizona schools or visit the Washington schools. The former is a bummer, since CU plays very well against the Arizonas and those should be good squads. Avoiding a trip to Washington means one fewer sure road win in Pullman, but CU cannot win in Seattle, so it’s a wash. It’s also nice to make the California/Stanford trip since neither team is very good, nor do they have difficult road environments.
