National Signing Day 2019: Quinn Perry Signs with the Buffs

The rugby style linebacker joins the Buffaloes.

Mel Tucker has quickly moved to remedy the front seven. With three juco linebackers coming in the 2019 class, the defensive front will look vastly different next fall. Quinn Perry is one of those difference makers.

Here’s what we said about Perry back in January:

At 6’2, 240 lbs., Perry is quick to the ball and makes ball carriers pay. He also demonstrates a knack for the big play both in coverage and rushing the passer. He had six sacks in 2018, a few forced fumbles, and an interception that he returned for a score. It’s worth mentioning too that he was all-league as a punter, a skill he carrier over from rugby.

All of that remains true in February. Perry is a killer athlete who is still learning the game. He seems to be a prime candidate to be a special teams gunner and will have every chance to play his way on the field on defense. He has the sideline to sideline speed that Tucker covets and is a sure tackler.

Welcome, Quinn!
