To celebrate the end of the 2010s, I locked myself in a room and spent many hours on Google Sheets crafting various all-decade teams. I made 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams for college football, college basketball, the NFL, the NBA, MLB and soccer, as well as CU-specific teams for both football and basketball. I’m tempted to publish all of these lists — I have zero editorial oversight lmao — but I’m only going to publish the CFB and CBB lists here, and the All-Colorado teams will be on another post because content.
All-Decade College Football
The All-Decade CFB list was designed to include the most defining players of the decade. There’s equal weight given to one-and-done superstars (like Cam Newton) and long-time who were consistently great but never superstars (like Barrett Jones). When in doubt, I chose who I think is the better player, which is why Lamar Jackson made second-team over Marcus Mariota, and why Jabrill Peppers isn’t on any team.
(These tables might be funky on mobile. Not my fault but I’m sorry.)
All-Decade College Basketball
Like with the CFB team, I’ve tried to weigh single-season dominance with multi-season greatness. I mostly put the best college players, regardless of duration, on the first team because they were the best. The less good but more prolific players made second and third teams. I also included Evan Turner because I hate myself. (Also for some reason the guard and forward positiins didn’t convert into the table, but I trust you know Zion Williamson is a forward.)
