Less than a week after leading Colorado to a 16-13 victory over Stanford, Buffaloes quarterback Steven Montez has officially accepted an invite to play in the 2020 East-West Shrine game. The senior from El Paso, Tex. has thrown for 2,428 yards and 14 touchdowns in 10 games this season. He’s also rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns.
Since stepping onto campus in 2016, Montez has amassed 10,255 total yards passing and rushing, joining Sefo Liufau as the only Colorado players to do so. By accepting an invite to play in the 95th edition of the Shrine game, Montez will follow several former Buffaloes who have played in this prestigious event.
