The Colorado Buffaloes (3-3 overall, 1-2 in Pac-12) have a lot to fix right now. They were just beaten down against Oregon, and now they travel again to take on the Washington State Cougars (3-3, 0-3).
Despite Wazzu losing their past three games, they open as 13-point favorites. The Cougars lost a wild game against UCLA, 67-63, then were blown out by Utah. On Saturday night, Wazzu lost on a last-minute touchdown to Arizona State in which freshman QB Jayden Daniels helicoptered into the end zone.
Colorado can’t claim much better, although they did beat ASU in Tempe. The CU defense has been horrendous all season and they’ve only gotten worse as injuries have piled on. The pass defense is especially woeful, which is troubling against Mike Leach’s air raid. There is hope, however, that Mustafa Johnson will back disrupting the line, and that the CU offense will be back on track after a dreadful showing against Oregon.
The Buffs will play Washington State at 5 p.m. on Saturday and it will be aired on ESPNU.
