Colorado Buffaloes ranked in College Football AP Top 25

For the first time since the final polls of 2016, the Colorado Buffaloes are ranked. Now 4-0 after their drubbing of the UCLA Bruins, the Buffs come in at 21st in Sunday’s AP Poll and 22nd in the Coaches Poll.

The Buffs were 26th in the AP Poll after their bye last week, so it was assumed that with the amount of ranked-vs.-ranked games in Week 5, they would climb into the polls if they took care of the Bruins. On Friday night on national television, the Buffs struggled out of the gate, but they rolled past UCLA with a second half 24-0 run to secure the 38-16 win.

On Saturday, CU’s spot in the Top 25 was all but guaranteed as BYU (20), Duke (22), Mississippi State (23), California (24) and Texas Tech (25) all lost. Stanford (7) and Penn State (9) also lost, but both to teams in the top 10, so they fell to 14th and 11th, respectively.

The Buffs are one of just 14 teams in FBS to be undefeated. With the exception of South Florida and Cincinnati, each is now ranked.
