The Colorado Buffaloes are not only being slept on by the national media, but also by the coaches of college football. The Amway Coaches preseason poll was released on Tuesday and your Buffs were unranked. No one even votes for them.
Here’s the official preseason Top 25:
1. Alabama (61 first-place votes)
2. Clemson (3)
3. Ohio State (1)
4. Georgia
5. Oklahoma
6. Washington
7. Wisconsin
8. Miami
9. Penn State
10. Auburn
11. Notre Dame
12. Michigan State
13. Stanford
14. Michigan
15. USC
16. TCU
17. Virginia Tech
18. Mississippi State
19. Florida State
20. West Virginia
21. Texas
22. Boise State
23. UCF
24. LSU
25. Oklahoma State
The most notable omission from these rankings, besides Colorado, is the absence of Utah. All jokes aside, they’re an experienced, well-coached team who should contend with USC for the Pac-12 South.
Washington (#6), Stanford (13) and USC (#15) were the only teams from the Pac-12 ranked. Oregon (105 votes), Utah (81), Washington State (7) and Arizona (2) also received votes. Most often the West Coast bias hurts Pac-12 teams, but whoever voted for Wazzu clearly hasn’t been following the team because they could be the second worst team in the conference.
