The University of Colorado is partnering with the world-renowned Children’s Hospital Colorado to give patients the opportunity to have their artwork printed on 2018 CU Football season tickets.
A total of twenty-five drawings were submitted from kids under the age of 12, with a majority being depictions of the Buffaloes mascot, Ralphie. From that, a lucky six special winners were chosen to be printed and shipped to season ticket holders on Wednesday.
“As we were going through design ideas for this year’s football season tickets, we were looking for ways to creatively connect the Buffs football experience to our fans and community, and what better way is there than through the eyes of children,” said Matt Biggers, Chief Marketing Officer/Associate AD External Affairs for the Buffaloes.
“To take it a step further, we quickly thought of involving our great partner, Children’s Hospital Colorado, to ask the children they are involved with to be the ones to submit their artwork. We were excited that they loved the idea and we were able to move forward creating this fun contest for their patients. What we got back from all of these children exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled that their contributions have made our ticket designs for this season so special.”
Children’s Hospital Colorado knew it would be an incredible opportunity for their patients and a great way to show off their relationship with the Buffaloes.
“We are so appreciative of the opportunity for our patients to engage with CU Athletics in this way,” said Christy Dobson, director of corporate and community relations at Children’s Hospital Colorado. “The kids had a wonderful time creating their designs and the winners are so proud to have their art in front of thousands of CU fans.”
