Sometime Thursday, perhaps Friday, Isaiah Oliver’s moment will come, a moment he’ll never forget.
“With the (insert number) selection in this year’s NFL Draft, the (insert NFL team) select Isaiah Oliver, defensive back, University of Colorado.”
For the second straight year, a member of the Colorado Buffaloes secondary – a unit often referred to as the “Money Gang” – will be selected in the NFL Draft. Last April, Chidobe Awuzie, Ahkello Witherspoon and Tedric Thompson each heard their names called.
Here’s a look back at the moment they were selected.
Chidobe Awuzie (2017: 2ndround, #60 overall – Dallas Cowboys)
With Philadelphia fans booing in unison, the most memorable moment during last year’s NFL Draft came when the Dallas Cowboys selected Chidobe Awuzie in the second round. Why such an overwhelming response for the 60thoverall pick? Former Cowboys great Drew Pearson riled up the Philadelphia faithful before announcing their NFC East rivals had selected the Colorado Buffaloes defensive back.
Thank you for an unforgettable intro.. chills & goosebumps all thru my body, ready to uphold the tradition! https://t.co/rJkjh6NR2z

Ahkello Witherspoon (2017: 3rdround, #66 overall – San Francisco 49ers)
Six picks after Awuzie was selected, former 49ers greats Tom Rathman and Takeo Spikes announced San Francisco had taken Ahkello Witherspoon with their third round pick.
Blessed and ready to work! @49ers I get to be a 49er!! Sac➡️BAY!

Tedric Thompson (2017: 4thround, #111 overall - Seattle Seahawks)
We had to grab our tissues for this one. The Seattle Seahawks captured the moment general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll told Tedric Thompson they were taking him with the 111thoverall pick. Thompson’s reaction on the other end of the call was priceless.
He documented his entire NFL Draft experience in this 12-plus minute on YouTube.com. Well worth the watch.
