National Signing Day 2019: Jaren Mangham is a Buff

The bruiser from Michigan signs on

NCAA Football: Oregon State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Bigger backs are fun. The Colorado Buffaloes have a long history with big running backs, and pulling one from Big Ten country is always fun. You don’t have to think that far back to find the thoroughbreds the Buffs used to run with. Chris Brown, Bobby Purify, almost all other Gary Barnett running backs, the big boys move the ball down the field. But few have the hands that Jaren Mangham has.

Mangham attends football factory Cass Technical in Detroit, Michigan. He was the first prong of the Buffs very successful assault into Michigan for the 2019 class. Mangham is over 6’ and 200 pounds, and he uses all of it to beat up the defense.

Let’s make this clear - Mangham will not run past many cornerbacks. But he’ll definitely run them over. There’s a reason he has over 50 offers from across the country, many at linebacker. The dude is physical, agile, and polished. He catches the ball well, blocks well, and knows how to use his blocks. In college, he’s the perfect 3 down back.

Welcome, Jaren!
