Nu’umoto Falo Officially Reinstated to Colorado Football

The OLB will count last season as a redshirt

NCAA Football: Colorado at Arizona Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffs have a lot of change coming to the front seven next year, especially to the outside edges. Derek McCartney and Ryan Moeller are both gone, leaving those spots wide open. It will be nice to have a familiar face back in the fold:

Falo is back! The OLB, who left the team after an undisclosed violation of team rules, took last semester off and went back to California. He has apparently completed everything he needed to do because he was reinstated. Falo will even keep all of his remaining eligibility (2 years), treating the 2017 season as a redshirt year. Falo is also going by Nu’umoto now, as a way to honor his father.

Nu’umoto is expected to compete immediately for a starting job on the edge. From his action near the end of his sophomore year, it’s a strong guess that Falo will be strong off the edge and rush the passer well.

It should also be mentioned that this is one of the best things that Coach MacIntyre has done in his tenure. He consistently gives second chance to players that prove they will mature. Samson Kafovalu and Josh Tupou both benefited from this in 2016, and more than the ability to play football again, it also helps these players grow up. Let’s hope Falo has the same result.

Welcome back, Nu’umoto!
