Takeaways from Pac-12 media days, 105 Buffs report to fall camp, and a former Buff is turning heads down in Big D. You’ll have a craving for donuts after this week’s Buff Bites!

BUFFS PICKED TO FINISH 4TH IN PAC-12 SOUTH

Despite finishing 8-1 in their division and playing for the conference championship a year ago, the Buffs have been predicted by the media to finish fourth in the Pac-12 South this season. It comes as no surprise that USC was predicted to win the South this season, however the media had a difficult time projecting the rest of the division. Only 38 points separated the teams predicted to finish second, third and fourth (Utah, UCLA and Colorado) in this year’s preseason poll.

UMM, DONUTS OF CHAMPIONS!

One of the highlights of last week’s Pac-12 Media Days was a full board of donuts - yes, you heard me correctly - dedicated to each Pac-12 team.

Not sure what you think, but after looking closer at this board, Chip’s Chocolate Crumble looks delicious. Here’s a great recap of the Buffs time in Hollywood.

BUFFS REPORT FOR FALL CAMP MINUS ONE

105 players officially reported for fall camp Friday morning. That same day it was announced that sophomore cornerback Anthony Julmisse had been suspended from the team indefinitely following his arrest stemming from an on-campus altercation. Julmisse was the Buffs primary kick returner last season and was listed on CU’s most recent depth chart as a starting cornerback entering fall camp.

POSITION PREVIEWS HAVE BEGUN

There are certainly a lot of storylines to keep an eye on during fall camp, and The Ralphie Report has you covered with our in-depth position previews for 2017. Is sophomore signal caller Steven Montez ready to lead the Buffs to another Pac-12 South title? Here’s Jack Barsch’s preview of the Buffs quarterback situation.

WORTH THE LISTEN

If you listen to podcasts, here are two you may want to add to your playlist. Voice of the Buffs Mark Johnson and CUBuffs.com Contributing Editor Neill Woelk launched the Buffs Insider Podcast last week. According to Curtis Snyder, CU’s Director of Digital Strategy, the podcast will “take you inside all of CU’s sports programs like never before.” Johnson will also host another podcast, Buffs Daily, which will debut on August 7.

FORMER BUFF STILL HAS IT

13-years since Bobby Purify last suited up for the Buffs, the 35-year old continues to star on the gridiron. The Denver Post’s Kyle Newman caught up with the former running back who is now paying to play for the Colorado Greyhawks, a semi-pro team out of Denver. Purify, who wears number 13, helped lead the Greyhawks to their fourth straight Colorado Football Conference Championship on Saturday.

CHIDO DOING CHIDO!

It may be early, but Chidobe Awuzie is already turning heads at Cowboys camp. It certainly helps when you make plays like this interception.

Can’t wait to watch this guy tear it up on Sunday’s this fall.
