Colorado Lands Another 2018 Texas Commitment

A massive young man just pledged to the Buffs.

Would you look at that. Ralphie Report posts an article about the “down period” of CU recruiting, and said to expect news to pick up soon. THAT SAME WEEK the Buffs pick up a huge commitment. Frank Filip, the tall offensive tackle from Houston, became the seventh commit for the Buffs and the second from Texas. Filip has a ton offers, largely from his home region. A good sign, as all the programs that have seen him have liked him. He picked the Buffs over Baylor, Oregon State, Houston, and Rice, among others.

Filip is about 6’6 and 260 pounds, but you wouldn’t know it by watching him. His gigantic frame makes him look a lot skinnier than 260. He still pushes the man in front of him quite easily, and he moves really well for his size. The potential there is easy to see. Get him in a college weight room, pack 20 pounds of muscle on him, and let him run. He seems very in line with Aaron Haigler, the former TE-made-RT for the Buffs that started and played well last year.

Filip joins Josh Jynes as the two commits from the Lone Star State. Both play on the offensive line, with Jynes at center. Expect more news from Texas this cycle.

Welcome, Frank!
