Nine cornerbacks were off the board before Colorado’s Chidobe Awuzie finally heard his named called in the 2017 NFL Draft. With the 28th pick in the Second round (60th overall), the Dallas Cowboys selected the 6’0, 202-lb product from San Jose, California.

*Awuzie, not Owuzie
A big part of Colorado’s #MoneyGang, Awuzie played in 48 games during his career in Boulder, registering a total of 265 tackles and nine sacks. He is the first Buffs cornerback to be drafted since Jalil Brown was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 4th round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Here are some reactions to the Awuzie pick via Twitter, including some of his former coaches and teammates:
When I turned on Colo games last season, CB Chidobe Awuzie always caught my eye. Always flying around. Like this pick for the Cowboys.

"This isn't a project. This is a guy that's going to play. He's going to see a lot of snaps." -- @dpbrugler, on Chidobe Awuzie.

Dallas got huge value in picking Awuzie. He's literally immortal and will be able to play until the end of time.
