The NFL released the full list of NFL combine invitees today, and CU is well represented this year. Four seniors for the Buffs have been invited to test their skills and boost their draft stock. Chidobe Awuzie, Sefo Liufau, Tedric Thompson, and Ahkello Witherspoon are all travleing to Indianapolis to represent Colorado. The Buffs are four out of 47 Pac-12 players invited to the combine, ranking fourth among the Power 5 conferences, but wayyyy ahead of fifth, the Big 12. They’re stuck at the bottom, with 18 invitees to the combine. Thank the Lord CU got out of that mess of a conference. In unsurprising news, the SEC had the most invites with 66, followed by the ACC and the Big 10. This is great publicity for the Buffs and a great opportunity for the players.
However, the fact that Josh Tupou was left off of this list is astounding. Samson Kafovalu and Jordan Carrell deserve looks as well, but after Tupou’s dominance of the East-West Shrine game, you’d think that the NFL would get smart and add him into the pile. But no, some team will have to get very lucky with Josh. Good luck to the four Buffs representing at the combine!
