The East-West Shrine Game, played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, is a postseason All-Star Game for seniors to practice and play in front of NFL scouts. This year’s game will be played on January 20th.
Laguda is physical safety who’s excellent against the run, but he’s likely to go undrafted because he has struggled in coverage. In this game, Laguda will hope to show off that he’s improved upon his strengths and worked on his weaknesses. If he can do that, he could be a 6th or 7th round pick. If he’s undrafted, he should be able to catch on with a team as a special teamer.
Last year’s East-West Shrine Game featured five Buffs in Kenneth Olugbode, Tedric Thompson, Josh Tupou, Ahkello Witherspoon and Jimmie Gilbert. Thompson and Witherspoon were drafted and the others were all signed as undrafted free agents.
