Big 12 disrespects TCU in the official football standings

The Big 12 Conference can't get it right, again.

Despite the No. 12 TCU Horned Frogs (8-2, 5-2 Big 12) owning a second place tiebreaker over No. 13 Oklahoma State, Gary Patterson's team could still be left out of the title game-- or at least that's according to the official standings. The error on the Big 12's website has in-state rivals No. 4 Oklahoma and Oklahoma State positioned 1-2 for 'Bedlam part II' to take place at Dec. 2's conference championship game (10:30 am/ TV:FOX).

With two weeks left in the regular season, the Big 12 is preparing for their first title game in six years to avoid possible controversy with the College Football Playoff. The decision to play a championship game was well overdue in the current format. Mostly an attempt to overcome the mistake of Baylor and TCU being left out of the Playoff in 2014. The worst enemy of the Big 12 Conference is realignment and what should be an easy process of adding an additional two teams has gone astray on more than one occasion. Cincinnati, Houston and BYU were all on the Big 12's short list of teams targeted to join the conference this past offseason. That process isn't expected to be resolved any time soon.

As for now, Oklahoma has best chance of representing the Big 12 in this year's Playoff, but will have to win out to secure a rematch with either TCU or Oklahoma State in the conference championship.
