As you all know by now, CU recruits to a blueprint for defensive backs. They have to be physical and they have to be freak athletes. Perhaps no player personifies those two qualities more than Hasaan Hypolite.
Hypolite hails from the Houston metropolitan area, Mizzouri City to be exact, where he plays for Hightower. He is listed at 5’11 and just shy of 200 pounds, so he is already solidly built. Some Buff fans may remember the last name Hypolite from the baller George “The Rabid Goldfish” Hypolite, but as far as he knows, there is no relation from Hasaan to George. Hypolite (the recruit, not The Rabid Goldfish) chose CU over offers from Houston, Texas Tech, and East Carolina, among others.
It’ll take a while for you to find someone more physical at defensive back. As a safety he closes on the ball quick and then lays out the ball-carrier. No one gains more yards after they’ve been hit by Hypolite. His angles may need some work, but he has more than enough body control and speed to make up for it at his current level. He plays very close to the line of scrimmage most of the time, so he may be a prime candidate to take over the Buff backer position when he gets to campus.
