Shamar Hamilton Signs With the Buffaloes

The athletic defensive end joins up the secondary

NCAA Football: Arizona State at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Shamar Hamilton, a hybrid defensive end from ASA College in Miami, Florida, has decided to officially join the Colorado Buffaloes. Ralphie Report reported his commitment this summer as a defensive end replacement. Hamilton will have three years to play two and will certainly enjoy the extra six months to get acclimated with Boulder and the football program. Hamilton is a man at 6’5 and 235 pounds, though he is bigger than that now and will continue to round out his body under Drew Wilson.

Hamilton will play the Derek McCartney role, a pass rusher who can hold the edge on the run as well. His tape shows a motor that just won’t quit with some nice flexibility and agility. Hamilton is quick off the snap and punches the pulling guard or tackle well, more than holding his own against the run. Hamilton had a great senior season, though he was injured near the end of the season, and will probably receive playing time immediately.
