California Linebacker Becomes Commitment Number 18!

Nate Landman, the outside linebacker from the Golden State, joins the Rise.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

It's not even August yet and the Buffaloes have found their eighteenth commitment for the 2017 class. We've said for what seems like the last ten recruits, but if you aren't taking the Rise seriously, you better start quick, because CU is lights-out right now. The next recruit who fell in love with Boulder is Nate Landman, a linebacker's linebacker from California.

Putting on his tape is like traveling back in time. Crushing hits and technical play are the name of the game with Landman. He plays his gaps well (something very rare for high school linebackers), he fills the hole efficiently and quickly, and best of all, the ball-carrier stops going forward when Landman makes contact. His frame has the room to put on a lot more muscle, and by the time he's done, he should be a 6'3, 240 pound freak who flies all over the field. He's a perfect fit for Jim Leavitt's defense.

Welcome aboard, Nate!
