Last years Colorado Buffaloes struggled in the second half on a consistent basis. Eight games into this season and it's clear that that won't be an issue with this team. The Buffs weathered a crazy shooting first half from the Rams and a 53-29 deficit to win 88-77.
The Buffaloes came out of half time on fire and ripped off a 15-1 run to storm back and take the lead. Josh Scott finished with a 21 points and 11 rebounds for another double-double. Wes Gordon led the comeback in the second half with 15 points and 12 rebounds and showed a fire and drive that we haven't seen from him in awhile in taking over the game. Josh Fortune added 16 points and six assists and Dom Collier had seven assists to go along with an insane +27 number.
Gian Clavell had 18 points for the Rams and John Gillon added 16, but they were all in the first half.
This was a big, big road win for the Buffaloes, one that the past few iterations wouldn't have been able to get done. Combine this with the loss against ISU and the win over Auburn and you're starting to see a team with some serious mental toughness.
Next up for Colorado is BYU and their pugilist, Nick Emery, on Saturday.
