CU Buffs', CSU Rams' recruting classes earn praise for filling needs - The Denver Post

"For Colorado to get back to recruiting four- and five-star guys, it's going to take some years of winning," Crabtree said. "But first, you need to build a foundation. And from a filling-needs standpoint, I think Mike MacIntyre and his staff did a really good job."

Colorado football: CU Buffs getting a "hitter" with Aurora safety Evan White - Buffzone

"Evan is a big, physical player who can run. And he's athletic, explosive. Evan's a good football player," Thelen said. "He had a very strong senior year just like we hoped he did. He's a physical player who can make plays in the secondary."

Colorado football: Quarterback Cade Apsay ready to sign with Buffs, compete right away - Buffzone

Apsay is not considered a blue-chip quarterback, but he is seen as a blossoming player at the toughest and most critical position in the sport. Rivals.com ranks him as a three-star prospect, the 84th best player in California and the 24th best quarterback recruit in this class in the nation. Many of the other quarterback recruits who have chosen CU over the past decade have had similar ratings and success in the high school ranks only to fall short at the college level.

Where Colorado's top 10 prep recruits are going to college - The Denver Post

5. Isaac Miller, Silver Creek OL, 6-7, 250, Colorado Tall and strong, Miller helped Silver Creek to its third consecutive Class 3A state championship game last season. His goal with the Buffaloes: become the next Nate Solder.

7. Evan White, Cherokee Trail S, 6-3, 195, Colorado A two-time Denver Post All-Colorado selection, White was the heart of a stifling defense that helped Cherokee Trail to the final four this year. He is a cousin of former Buff J.J. Billingsley, who played safety from 2002-06.

Colorado football: MacIntyre picks up 11 defensive players in 2014 class - Buffzone

The class tilts slightly in favor of defense with 11 defensive recruits and nine slated for offense. It includes MacIntyre's oldest son, Jay, who announced he would join the program Wednesday in a signing day eerily reminiscent of 2006 when Cody Hawkins surprised his dad by faxing his paperwork to CU from his high school in Boise, Idaho.

Ranking the Pac-12 recruiting classes for the Class of 2014: Sarkisian and Trojans pull away from the Pac on signing day - Pacific Takes

12. Colorado
Star: WR Shay Fields
Sleeper: DE Sam Bennion
Strength: Receiver
Weakness: Defensive tackle
Even though it is still at the bottom of the Pac-12, I think the Buffaloes improved with this class and I almost put them over Utah. Pulling Shay Fields away from USC and some other big schools reminds me of when Washington pulled Chris Polk away from USC and it ended up doing wonders for their program.

Howell: Hidden gems key to rebuilding project - Buffzone

Keeney is a 6-foot-6, 215-pound tight end who, at the time, was getting very little attention from college recruiters.

"He had no offers," CU head coach Mike MacIntyre said.

"We keep recruiting him, we offer him and we're after him. So, he goes to another camp that our coaches went to up in Seattle area. There's another tight end there that's a four-star that's been offered by everybody. They go through all the drills and everybody goes, 'Who in the world is Dylan Keeney?' They completely forgot about the other kid.

Former Sterling star Talton to start again for Colorado | The Field House — The Denver Post

Colorado men’s basketball coach Tad Boyle said Friday that Buffs sophomore guard Xavier Talton again will be in the starting lineup Sunday night for the 6 p.m. home game against Washington.

Colorado men's basketball: Buffs' Thomas on verge of breaking out - Buffzone

CU head coach Tad Boyle has always raved about Thomas' talent and believes the 6-foot-7 forward is on the verge of breaking out. Thomas feels the same way, thanks in part to that shot. "I think I have a streak coming," he said with a smile. "My all-around game is coming together right now."

Brooks: Scott Focuses On Only Stat That Matters – The ‘W’ - CUBuffs.com - Official Athletics Web site of the University of Colorado

"I was talking to my family after the game and they were saying they couldn’t remember a game where it was like that," he said. "I can’t either. So that’s kind of shocking. But at the same time, it was a big win and I wasn’t too absorbed in it. You’re frustrated in the moment, but I was just happy in the end we pulled it out. I would have felt bad if we’d have lost – that’s for sure. I’m not going to worry about it."
