Buffs Basketball!
Men's basketball: Early indications are that Andre Roberson should return to CU Buffs - Buffzone - I'm not as confident as Phil that Roberson will declare for the NBA draft, but I don't think the odds are better than 50% he returns. It will be interesting to watch these next couple of weeks.
Colorado's Tad Boyle isn't a fit for UCLA | The Field House — The Denver Post - I'm linking this because we're entering slow season. That is the only reason...
Kiszla: For CU Buffs to join elite, Boyle it down to this - The Denver Post
While watching Ohio State beat Arizona 73-70 on Thursday on a 3-point jump shot by LaQuinton Ross with two seconds remaining on the clock, it struck me: The Buffs are very close to being the equal of almost any elite team the country.
Women's basketball: CU Buffs' Lappe already looking ahead - Buffzone
4. Who will lead this team?
Meagan Malcolm-Peck was a great leader for the Buffs this year, and Jeffery provided a solid amount of leadership on the court. With both gone, CU needs to fill those gaps. The Buffs work on leadership skills for all their players, and Lappe said she sees a lot of leadership qualities in her players. As for who takes on the role of being the Malcolm-Peck for the 2013-14 squad, that remains to be seen.
Buffs Football!
Mike MacIntyre recruiting eighth quarterback to CU Buffs roster - Buffzone - Not sure how I feel about this, but that is a pretty awesome last name...
Fishback completed 108 of 201 passes for 1, 482 yards and 12 touchdowns with seven interceptions last season, according to stats reported by the California Community College Athletic Association. Fishback played an offense with similar concepts and designs to what the Buffs have been installing the spring. The fact that MacIntyre is recruiting another quarterback to add to the six he already has to work with in spring drills and a seventh who will arrive as a true freshmen this summer is a signal that the coaching staff isn't satisfied with its options at the position.
Football: CU Buffs, Baer working on multi-year contract - Buffzone
"Some people say, 'It's got to be hard for you to do that as a coordinator when Mac has been a coordinator,' " Baer said. "It's not because him and I work together really, really well. I like our defensive staff and they totally understand what we want to do. It's just a matter of getting the right personnel and putting them in the right spots and getting it done." Baer will be just the second assistant coach in CU history to receive a multi-year deal.
Former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy became the first when he was hired away from the Minnesota Vikings in 2010 to join Jon Embree's staff. Both Embree and Bieniemy played at CU and helped build the program into a national champion in 1990. They weren't nearly as successful coaching in Boulder and were fired after a 1-11 season last fall.
