USC at COLORADO

Gemmell: Fire melts snow, and the Trojans are on fire right now. The weather might be a factor, but the Trojans are playing so loose and easy right now that Ed Orgeron will probably give the team snow cones. I like Colorado’s progress. I like the Trojans’ better right now. USC 31, Colorado 21

Miller: Colorado got a conference win over California and, at 4-6, we're already ready to call Mike MacInytre's first season a success. Yet USC is no Cal. While some might wonder if the Trojans will have a letdown game, they seem to be having too much fun not to show up in top form. USC 40, Colorado 17

As of his 100th day, the Buffs’ cumulative fall sports record was 258-76-7. A Pac-12 championship was won in men’s cross country, with the women finishing second. The soccer team advanced to the NCAA round of 32 and plays BYU Thursday afternoon in Tallahassee, Fla. (editor's note: CU defeated BYU, 2-1, and advanced to the Sweet 16).  The volleyball team is battling for an NCAA tourney berth. Both golf teams and the tennis team had their autumn moments.

Colorado football: Trojans' improved O-line will present test for Buffs - Buffzone

"It's going to be the best offensive line, I think, that we play all year," senior defensive lineman Chidera Uzo-Diribe said. "Those guys, they're big, they're physical, so it's going to be a challenge for us."

Arizona State Sun Devils run at the South among Pac-12 what to watch - ESPN

A Song of Ice and Fire: Yes, that’s a tip of the hat to my Game of Thrones friends. The Trojans are on fire right now, having won four straight and five of their last six. They are 5-1 since Ed Orgeron was named interim head coach, including a win last week over No. 4 Stanford. But weather conditions are expected to be in the 30s and there is the possibility of snow in Boulder. USC isn’t traditionally a cold-weather team. Colorado is coming off a big home win against Cal and the Buffs still have something to play for in late November. Been a while since we typed that.

CU, Air Force and CSU football attendance far from standing room only - The Denver Post

CU's average home attendance (38,754) is its lowest since 1985, the year coach Bill McCartney turned around the Buffaloes in his fourth year on the job. Orms grew up in Wheat Ridge as a lifetime Buffs fan. As he leaves, he wishes there were more of them. "I feel like it's my fault," Orms said. "It's our fault the fans aren't out there."

USC vs Colorado: Can Weather and Momentum Give Buffs a Boost?

It will take a monumental effort from Colorado and a major lapse in focus from USC to get it done, but crazy things happen in November in the cold and the snow. Could the Buffs build off their first conference win, upset the Trojans, and keep their hopes of a bowl bid alive?

Colorado men's basketball: Dinwiddie leads Buffs past Gauchos - Buffzone

"We got practice at 8 a.m. (on Friday), so whether we like it or not, it don't really matter," junior point guard Spencer Dinwiddie said, referring to Boyle changing up the schedule in response to the effort Thursday night. "As long as (Boyle) don't like it and we've got practice, I don't think anybody's happy."

I don't think the Pac-12 is back to its previous heights because there's only one team that looks to be a reasonable Final Four contender. That said, it's bounced back very nicely from the trough of a few years ago. In the preseason, I thought the league could get seven teams into the NCAAs, and that still looks quite possible. It's a very good league, and the prep talent on the West Coast is rising, so this shouldn't be a blip. I like the prognosis for the league going forward.

Colorado men's basketball: Buffs struggle to defend 3-point shots again - Buffzone

This season, CU opponents have been successful on 3-pointers 38.2 percent of the time (52 of 136). The Buffs are on pace for their worst 3-point defense since allowing 39.3 percent in 2006-07. Last year, the Buffs held opponents to 32 percent.

CU Soccer Upsets No. 19 BYU To Advance To Sweet 16 - CUBuffs.com - Official Athletics Web site of the University of Colorado

The Buffs will face host team No. 1 seeded Florida State. Kick-off of the Sweet 16 game is at noon ET (10 a.m. MT) on Saturday, Nov. 23. at Florida State Soccer Stadium.    "It’s just awesome, I told (coach) that he can’t get rid of us yet," Hughes said. "I think as seniors we just want to keep going because we aren’t ready to be done. I think that it’s just awesome and it means a lot to us and there are also a lot of people that are following us. I have teachers and just old teammates that are just so invested in this and it just means a lot to us and this is a great experience and we just want to keep going."
