In tonight's interviews Colorado Buffaloes head coach Jon Embree stated that Jordan Webb will remain the Buffs starter this coming Saturday on the road against Fresno State, but Connor Wood will see a few series.
I already made my feelings clear on the quarterback situation in the wrap-up of the loss to Sacramento State and I don't feel the need to rehash them once again.
Finally, Jordan Webb is not the guy to lead this team going forward. He's seems to be a great kid and a hell of a worker, but this program needs a quarterback it can grow with. It needs someone that has talent and a high ceiling and can learn how to use it. We've already seen what this team can do with low-ceiling quarterbacks.
I'm debating whether or not I think the idea of splitting time is even worse than just giving Webb the full call again, but at this point I'm just going to put some faith in the staff (no, they haven't earned it this year) and hope for the best. I hope that whichever quarterback performs best is quickly given the reigns, but most importantly I just hope for better.
** Here are a couple of other injury notes from tonight.
#CUBuffs LB Doug Rippy and S Ray Polk both out this week; OL Gus Handler and CB Greg Henderson are "50-50" according to Embree. #Buffs
