Buffaloes Basketball Receives A Verbal From Texas Power Forward Dustin Thomas

Another heartbreaking football loss, another basketball commit to remind us that there is hope for Buffaloes athletics. Tad Boyle has received his second verbal commitment in the 2013 class with the pledge of Texas power forward Dustin Thomas. Thomas is an under the radar type who was his district MVP last season and is a great fit to take over Andre Roberson's role once he goes pro.

Welcome aboard, Dustin!

Dustin Thomas

Position: Power Forward
Measurables: 6-8, 180 lbs.
High School: Pleasant Grove (Texarkana, TX) HS

Rankings
:
- Rivals: 3-star
- Scout: No rank
- ESPN: No rank

Other Schools of Interest: Oklahoma, Lehigh, Texas-Arlington. Heavy interest from Texas, K-State

Status: Verbal with Colorado

Notes:
From Buff Stampede:
"Thomas was named the 3A Region II District 15 MVP last season after he helped Pleasant Grove to a 29-2 record.

He averaged 20 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and five steals while shooting 48 percent from three-point range for Pleasant Grove as a junior.

"Colorado is going to use me inside and out," Thomas said. "I will probably play a lot more outside because they love the way I shoot the ball. But I am a mismatch guy. When the other team puts a smaller player on me, I can always take them to the post. Colorado runs a motion so it is just a perfect fit for me."
