Pac-12 Media Day is Tuesday, July 24th and we will again have a a presence at the event. David Gerhardt will be in attendance trying to get your questions answered and he'll bringing back any tidbits he may uncover. As part of our application to attend, I had to fill out our Pac-12 preseason media ballot and in order to start some discussion before the actual picks are released, here were my picks.
Pac-12 North
1) Oregon Ducks
2) Washington Huskies
3) Stanford Cardinal
4) Washington St. Cougars
5) California Golden Bears
6) Oregon St. Beavers
Pac-12 South
1) USC Trojans
2) Utah Utes
3) Arizona Wildcats
4) UCLA Bruins
5) Colorado Buffaloes
6) Arizona St. Sun Devils
Quick thoughts after the jump...
The hardest teams for me to place were 4-6 in the Pac-12 North. 4th for Washington State could be way too high if they have trouble learning Leach's offense right away, but the cupboard is well-stocked enough at quarterback and wide receiver that I think they could surprise if the defense can be decent. Tedford could be in trouble if Cal finishes that low and Oregon State always seems to bounce back well from down years, but I just don't see it happening this year.
Once again, the South looks completely up for grabs after USC and Utah (probably).
How would you rank em?
