In case you are wondering. In both games our opponents are the Utah Utes... these Utah Utes:
Utes suffer worst loss in program history - Block U
Really nothing much to say about this game that wasn't said in the headline. The Runnin' Utes, in a 46 point loss to the Oregon Ducks, finish the worst regular season in school history, fittingly, with the worst loss in school history. So, instead of a woe is me post - I'll just leave you with a picture that I think perfectly sums up this year's team and tonight's game.
I like our chances...
University of Colorado junior Brianne Beemer earned a sixth-place finish in the pentathlon after recording a personal record of 3,960 points on Sunday at the USA Track & Field Indoor Combined Events Championships. Beemer's total score was almost 200 points higher than her previous best of 3,771 which she set last weekend at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Championships. The score ranks second on CU's all-time list behind Pam Owen's total of 4,046, which was recorded at the 1993 Big Eight Championships in Ames, Iowa.
Colorado, 17-12 overall, finished in sole possession of 10th place in the Pac-12 with a record of 6-12. Utah, 15-14 overall, completed league play in a seventh place tie with Washington at 8-10, winning the tiebreaker for the higher seed by virtue of its regular season win over the Huskies. The Buffaloes and Utes split their season series, each winning on the road. Colorado claimed a 58-52 decision in the Pac-12 opener in Salt Lake City on Dec. 31. Utah won an overtime bout in Boulder, 61-56, on Feb. 18.
CU, who won 11 conference games, was selected tied for 10th in the preseason conference media poll, swept both meetings with the Runnin' Utes this season and come into their first-ever Pac-12 Tournament 3-3 in their six games. The Buffs have won 19 games and are looking their first-ever back-to-back 20-win season. CU won a school-record 24 games a year ago.
