Colorado Buffaloes Play Great All Game, Beat California 70-57

Presswire

Colorado responded incredibly to their embarrassing loss as they were able to eventually pull away and beat California, 70-57. Nate Tomlinson and Austin Dufault both showed up on senior day and played brilliantly. Neither of these players contributed much last year, but this year they really have stepped it up. Tomlinson has continually improved his play and Dufault developed a very good inside and outside game. Spencer Dinwiddie and Austin Dufault both led the way with 15 points. Overall, it was a very impressive performance and definitely improved Colorado's chances of getting a first round bye in the Pac-12 tournament.

Things the Buffaloes did well: Cal did a good job all game of stopping Colorado's transition play, but Colorado responded with great half-court offense. They were patient and used every second they had on the shot clock. Andre Roberson had an outstanding game on the glass. He had 16 rebounds and 5 were offensive. His timing seems like it is perfect on every play. Additionally, Dinwiddie and Booker have mastered the step-back three. One thing about Spencer Dinwiddie that stands out is his confidence. Ultimately, this was an excellent game for the Buffaloes on offense and defense. Almost every shot was contested and California only got 4 offensive rebounds.

Things the Buffaloes struggled with: Carlon Brown didn't have a great game on senior day. He looks like he isn't hustling half the time and can't seem to make his outside shot anymore. There were a couple possessions where the Buffaloes had some sloppy defense, but it was almost a flawless game for Colorado.

Up Next: Colorado is at Oregon on Thursday night. Oregon has been waiting to get back at Colorado after their controversial loss and will be ready to play. If Colorado plays like they did today, they will have a great chance of winning.
