Buffaloes Guard Carlon Brown Named Pac-12 Player Of The Week

Great honor for Carlon. Keep it up this week on the road...

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Colorado guard Carlon Brown has been named Bank of the West Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 2-8, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Monday.

The senior led Colorado to a sweep over Washington and Washington State last week, bringing the Buffs to the top of the conference standings as the only unbeaten team in Pac-12 play. Brown led the team with 18 points on Thursday in Colorado's 87-69 defeat of the Huskies, scoring 13 in the first half on 7-of-11 shooting (.636) and a 3-of-3 performance from three-point range.

On Saturday, the Riverside, Calif., product kept the Cougars at bay with a game-high 28 points-including 18 in the second half-in a 71-60 victory over WSU. Brown hit a career-best six three-pointers, went 9-for-16 from the field (.563) and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds.

Over two games, Brown averaged 23.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg, and tallied two assists, two steals and one block.

This is Brown's first career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor and the first all-time selection for conference newcomer Colorado.

The Buffs take their first Pac-12 road trip this week, facing Cal on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. PT and Stanford on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. PT.
