Buffaloes Land Verbal From DC Corner John Walker

The Colorado Buffaloes have received their first since December 20th in cornerback John Walker. Walker is the second commit from H.D. Woodson in Washington, DC, joining teammate De'Jon Wilson. Corner is a big need in this recruiting cycle as we highlighted in our pre-spring positional breakdown last month. Walker is the first true corner in this class and is a big pick-up for the Buffs. Having Walker pledged to come to Boulder should only help strengthen Wilson's commitment and could help land teammate and former Tennessee commit Kenneth Crawley.

Welcome aboard John!

Notes: From Rivals ($):
"The 6-foot-0, 168-pound defensive back from H.D. Woodson in Washington D.C. has received scholarship offers from Colorado, Kansas, Northwestern and Indiana. He has also been hearing from Rutgers, Syracuse and UConn among others.

Walker has scheduled visits with the Jayhawks and Buffaloes.
"I played quarterback until my senior year so I had to transition over to defensive back," Walker said. "And I didn't get a chance to go to any combines so I am not a blue-chip recruit on Rivals but I know my playing ability and I can compete with the best. A lot of people overlooked me so I played with a chip on my shoulder my senior season."
