Colorado_mediumBrooks: CU Hopes Ground Game Can Ground Hawai’i QB - CUBuffs.com

Hawai'i quarterback Bryant Moniz passed for an NCAA-best 39 touchdowns last season, but just one of them was thrown against Colorado. The Buffaloes didn't stumble upon the secret to limiting Moniz' productivity, they simply ran over it.

"The run’s important against anybody we play," Embree said Tuesday during his first weekly media conference. "It helps us play as a team . . . when you play good defense you’re running to the ball, chasing the ball. If you’re on the field a lot, you’re not going to be able to chase it like you were in the first quarter. When you’re running the football, you’re allowing your defense to rest."

"I just want to win; I don’t care about the numbers," he said. "I don’t care if it’s 3-2. We have to create that culture. I don’t care about style points and all that. I hope I can sit here and be called the worst 5-0 team in the country..."

I'm thinking this is as close as we're going to get to a W/L expectation from Embree all year.

Below are the "T.I.P.S." for the game against the Warriors, broken down into categories of: "Talent"; "Intangibles"; "Preparation/Schedule"; and "Statistics".

...For Colorado, then, the game plan against the Hawai’i offense is straight-forward. Utilize the strongest unit on the Colorado defense, the defensive line, against the green Hawai’i offensive line, hoping to keep Moniz from getting enough time to exploit the Buffs’ new cornerbacks.

Colorado_mediumTHE CURIOUS INDEX, 8/31/2011 - Every Day Should Be Saturday

WE WILL PLAY THEM ON THE BEACHES. WE WILL PLAY THEM ON THE MOON. Colorado coach Jon Embree says it doesn't matter if they play Hawaii on the moon. Suck it, Tyler Hansen: oxygen is a luxury you're just going to have to earn, along with gravity and some form of protection against tumor-blooming interstellar radiation.

Hawai'i is almost as far away as the moon...

Is it really 3 days away from football? Yes, it is! Go Buffs!  WOOOO!
