Colorado Lands Another, Donta Abron Jr. Commits To The Buffaloes

Apparently high school recruits like Boulder when it's sunny. The Colorado Buffaloes have secured their second verbal commitment from this past weekend's list of visitors with California running back Donta Abron Jr. deciding to join the team next season. In his final season at Upland the 5-foot-9 running back gained 1,710 yards and scored 33 touchdowns while contributing to the school's league championship. Abron was one of three players from Upland high school on campus last weekend and hopefully his commitment will help with both Christian Powell and Marques Mosley.

Welcome aboard Donta!

"The 5-foot-9, 187-pound running back gained 1,710 yards and scored 33 touchdowns while helping Upland to 12 wins and a Baseline League title this fall.

He scored three or more touchdowns on eight occasions during his senior campaign.

"We always joke that Donta is like NFL running back LaDainian Tomlinson. He runs like him, talks like him and actually looks like him, too," Upland assistant coach Mike Esquivel. "Donta is the whole package. He can catch the ball out of the backfield; we threw screens to him a lot."
