Tuesday Buff Bites - Two-A-Days, Hard-Hitting Football and 25 Days to go

Two-A-Days Start today.  We've got hard-hitting football, and only 25 Days to go
Colorado_mediumDavid's 8-9 practice notes - The Ralphie Report - Holy Crap. There's no other way to put it: if you even remotely like football, you have got to read David's practice reports.  They're thorough, the insight is better than we get from the newspapers, and I'm so excited for the season to start that I can't even sit down.

They were allowed to really hit for the first time today, and they wasted no time doing so. They would spend time working by positions, and then come together and scrimmage a few plays. The offense would break open a lane for the running back, and then the D would come right back and shut the O down. It was fun and very lively.

Colorado_mediumCU Buffs' Bakhtiari makes big leap - Buffzone - David's been saying this for the last few days, but here's Kyle Ringo's take on our newest Right Tackle.

On a team with 11 veteran offensive linemen who have logged playing time at some point in their careers, the redshirt freshman finds himself atop the depth chart at right tackle for the Buffs six days into training camp. Considering the lack of offensive production from the Buffs in recent years, it might not be farfetched to think Bakhtiari could keep the job for the season opener Sept. 4 against Colorado State and beyond.

Colorado_mediumJon linked to this yesterday, and David mentioned it in his writeup, but here's the official release on Patterson finally being cleared to practice with the team.

Colorado_mediumBig 12 preseason power rankings - Big 12 Blog - ESPN - Preseason polls are like the 5th grade student-council vote.  It's mostly a popularity contest, and it doesn't matter anyways.  Ubben basically slapped an '11' on us and jotted down our record from last year, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the list.

One more article featuring the Brown and Smith show, and more besides.  After the jump...

Colorado_mediumCollege football rivalries might experience a reversal of fortune in 2010 - ESPN - ESPN Plays "What-if" with rivalries such as Tennessee-Kentucky, Notre Dame-USC, and University of Texas Permian Basin-Prairie View A&M.  One of those might be slightly made up.

Colorado_mediumPreseason Training Camp Begins - - Football isn't the only sport starting their training camp; and volleyball starts it all off with a fist-pump.

Colorado_mediumBrown, Smith among the best - The Longmont Times-Call

[Brown]: "Me and Jimmy are definitely going to get our fair share of balls thrown our way, and we’re going to get a lot of opportunities to make plays — and I think we both will,"

Go Buffs.
