2010 Blue Ribbon Preview: Colorado Buffaloes - ESPN - Well aren't we lucky... the Blue Ribbon CU preview is the one school in the North that is free...
It has to start on offense, where the Buffs have been wildly inconsistent. They need stability at quarterback, and that means Tyler Hansen has to play well early in the season, or Cody Hawkins, if called upon, has to forget about the pressure of playing for his father and produce consistent results, taking care of the football and keeping the defense off the field. The Buffaloes have the potential to be solid on defense. They should be able to cover top receivers with Smith and Brown, which should help defensive coordinator Ron Collins dial up blitzes without what he calls a true speed pass rusher. Anything less than a bowl appearance could produce the end of the Dan Hawkins era in Boulder, so it should be an interesting season for the Buffaloes as they also gear up for their move to the Pac-10.

Best -- Can`t separate these two. On Nov. 23, 2001, Gary Barnett`s Buffs shocked the college football world by pummeling No. 2 and previously unbeaten Nebraska, 62-36, behind six touchdowns from Chris Brown. The win ended a nine-game CU losing streak to the Huskers -- but perhaps more importantly, signaled the beginning of the end of the Huskers` dominance in the Big 12. Eight days later, Barnett`s Buffs struck again, knocking off No. 3 Texas, 39-37. The victory moved the Buffs up to No. 3 in the national rankings and earned Colorado a Fiesta Bowl berth.
