CU Buffs praise Brian Cabral - Boulder Daily Camera
Colorado wide receiver Toney Clemons will be playing for his fourth college football coach in five seasons next fall. So if he had any say in the matter of the Buffaloes' coaching change, the transfer from Michigan would cast a vote for some continuity -- whether that means hiring interim coach Brian Cabral to lead the program or simply keeping a few assistants around.Clemons played one season for Lloyd Carr at Michigan and then one season with Rich Rodriguez before spending the last two years at CU under Dan Hawkins... "Being through a coaching change already at Michigan, you don't want a clean slate," Clemons said... "You don't want to see everybody wiped away because you lose a lot of tradition, and that's the main thing that hurts programs when there's coaching changes is tradition is lost."

Small class may be blessing for next CU Buffs football coach - Boulder Daily Camera
Colorado had 83 players on scholarship this season. The NCAA allows a maximum of 85 scholarships in Football Bowl Subdivision football. The program is bidding farewell to 14 scholarship seniors, which takes the scholarship numbers down to 69. That means as long as no scholarship players leave the program at the semester break, CU can sign 16 players on national signing day in the first week of February to get back to a full roster of 85.Allen Wallace, the national recruiting editor of Scout.com and publisher of SuperPrep magazine, said if the program was looking at signing a full class of 25 scholarship players allowed in any given year by the NCAA the next coaching staff would be scrambling with a lot of ground to make up in two months time. The actual situation isn't too bad. "It's a blessing in that Colorado can focus on fewer players and spread themselves out in a less diluted way," Wallace said.
"Upgrading Colorado's program is less about a quick fix than mounting a steady, well-planned rise back to the top. It will be easier for them to add fewer choice athletes now and correct the talent situation over time. The Buffaloes' move into the Pac-12 should immeasurably help their efforts. It's a very big selling point, especially with talent-laden California."
CU's Stewart snubbed on All-Big 12 Selections - Denver Post
CU junior tailback Rodney Stewart became the first Big 12 rusher in history to average at least 100 yards per game and not be even selected "honorable mention" on the all-conference teams that were announced Tuesday. The all-conference team is chosen by the league's coaches.
I don't have a problem with the first-team running backs (Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter and Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray) or even the second team (Nebraska's Roy Helu Jr., and Kansas State's Daniel Thomas). But to leave Stewart off the honorable-mention list is a travesty.
