Sorry for the lack of great material the past two days. Starting a new job this week so blogging has taken a slight back seat for the next day or two, but then I am sure we will get it rampled up again in time for spring ball. If there was ever a time for a little break anyway, it would be now. This is also a chance for you to step in if you want. See a good couple of articles covering CU, fire up a fan post with the details and links. We would love to get your opinions on anything Buff right now.

Today, the Buffs will take on the Texas Longhorns in the first round of the Big 12 tournament. Not a lot of confidence in the Buffs to pull it out today, as the oddsmakers have them between a 13.5 and 14 point underdog.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN.com has Texas in at a #7 seed but a loss today to the Buffs would probably have them sitting at home watching the dance. Remember, last year, CU was in a similar position as the 12 seed and ended up beating Baylor in the first round of the Big 12 championships.

In the only matchup with Texas this season, Colorado took them to overtime on the back of Cory Higgins' 34 point night. CU came back from down 15 at one point, only to lose the overtime session 13 - 4 enroute to a 9 point loss. It will be interesting to see the motivation Jeff Bzdelik's team has against a Texas team that needs to win at least one game to soldify their tournament birth. The key for me today is to get Dwight Thorne going on the offensive end. I expect Texas to not let Higgins go off like last time, double teaming him on every opportunity. Thorne showed promise in the middle of the season as a #2 scorer but has been hit or miss down the stretch. A 20 point night out of Thorne could ease the pressure on Higgins and open up the perimeter for others to get into double digits.
