Mosley: Cowboys want to trade down from #9 spot

36

ESPN NFC East blogger Matt Mosley tells Ben and Skin that the Cowboys want to trade down from the No. 9 spot in the draft. He says they don't see that much difference between Tyron Smith and other top OTs like Castonzo and Solder, and could also take Prince Amukamara or JJ Watt. He also blamed some of the recent bad drafting on Wade, and says Garrett is going to let the scouts do their work and listen to them, and is earning "rave reviews" for how he's handling things so far. My question all along has been how much difference is there between Smith and the other OTs. If the difference isn't that significant, then I would favor trading down, getting one of the other OTs or a guy like Amukamara, Watt or Aldon Smith a few picks later, and adding more picks later in the draft.

5. Flozell Adams, Dallas Cowboys. Adams got paid big this offseason, and rightly so. He is another guy who never gets help and can be left alone with the top pass rushers.

Cowboys sign 2 O-Linemen: Sure seemed obvious at the Cowboys recent rookie mini-camp there was a significant need for more offensive linemen when offensive line coach Hudson Houck only had one guy to work with. So the Cowboys addressed that issue on Wednesday by signing two more big bodies, bringing the total of offensive linemen on the squad to 13. The Cowboys signed three-year veteran tackle Cory Lekkerkerker and first-year guard Adam Stenavich. Lekkerkerker spent his first two seasons with the San Diego Chargers and the 2007 season with the Miami Dolphins. He originally signed with the Chargers as a rookie free agent following the 2005 NFL Draft, spending the first eight weeks of the season on the practice squad and the second half on the 53-man roster without ever playing. He then played in 15 games with the Chargers in 2006 season and then 11 games with Miami this past season, starting two. Stenavich spent the 2006 season on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad. He was allocated to NFL Europe in the spring of 2007 and played with the Amsterdam Admirals. Stenavich was released prior to the start of the 2007 season and spent the season out of football. He originally signed with the Carolina Panthers following the 2006 NFL Draft as a rookie free agent, was released by the Panthers after training camp and immediately signed with the Packers.
